Just wanting to know how people handle candidates that call and ask about how much a position pays without even having sent in a resume? Our company's policy is not to advertise what a position pays. My recent experience with this was to tell them that this is a topic that is usually discussed at the interview and I invited them to send me a resume. What are your views on this?

The person who has been filling in for me during my maternity leave was going to act as my assistant on my return (though I knew she was planning to leave the company in the fall), however, she was offered another position and is set to leave right after I return to work (which is set for May 1, 2008).
